Shapeshift Introduces Membership Program; Purists Get Salty
The once rather anonymous ShapeShift crypto exchange will start a membership rewards program. This has upset some purists who prefer the previous system.[1]
Essentially one could argue the fact that ShapeShift operated a bit like a decentralized exchange, in that it didn’t require people to create an account and didn’t take custody of user funds, was a perk.
However, moving forward users will have to sign in and resister to use ShapeShift like they do with most other exchanges as the rewards program is optional at first, but will soon become mandatory.
This obviously has some people upset, with that said… there are lots of dex exchanges out there and this is kind of like the company’s choice.
