Cryptocurrency Verge (XVG) Partners With Pornhub and Other Adult Sites Run by MindGeek
A few highly trafficked adult sites, including Pornhub, have partnered with Verge (XVG) and are now accepting Verge (XVG) as payment.
To start, Verge will be accepted at Pornhub, Brazzers, and Nutaku. These sites are all run by the internet company MindGeek. In the future more MindGeek sites are planning to start taking Verge.[1]
The price of Verge rose leading up to the announcement. There was a rumor that a big announcement was coming, put out by Verge itself. It was retracted once the announcement was made because people tend to buy the rumor and sell the news in crypto.
With that said, this news was arguably pretty darn good for Verge and the price increase, in this case, has some logic behind it. One could argue that a cryptocurrency’s true value comes from its use, not from speculation on prices. In terms of use, adult entertainment online is a pretty obvious fit for a coin like Verge due to the fact that Verge is focused on anonymity and low-cost transactions.

TIP: There is FUD going around claiming that PornHub already lets you pay with a bunch of cryptos… but that doesn’t seem to be the case. In the name of science and empirical research I just tried to sign up for a premium account… and the only choices seemed to be 1. pay with Verge and 2. pay with credit card. To verify this yourself, go to the site, click sign up for premium account in the top right corner, and you’ll see what I mean. I can’t screenshot the screen due to its content.
