With Ethereum wallets you may need to add a custom token. You’ll need the contract address, symbol, and decimal to add a custom token.

To add a token go to ethplorer.io and search for the token you want to add. On the main page of the token you’ll find the address, symbol, and decimal.

Then go to the wallet (ex. MetaMask, MyEtherWallet, etc), click the add token button, and input the address, symbol, and decimal.

EX. For the Unikoin Gold token (which was launched as an ICO), the following information is needed:

  • Token Contract Address: 0x24692791Bc444c5Cd0b81e3CBCaba4b04Acd1F3B
  • Token Symbol: UKG
  • Decimals: 18

TIP: You can generally find this information other ways, such as on the smart contract that created the token or on the GitHub of the token.

TIP: You won’t always need to add a token. Many wallets have pre-added all current tokens.
