HitBTC Didn’t Pause Trading After CMCT Hack While Other Exchanges Did

It is worth noting that HitBTC didn’t pause trading on Crowd Machine (CMCT) after a CMCT hack while other exchanges did.

This potentially resulted in stolen CMCT being tradable on HitBTC after the hack was already known about.

Also, it resulted in the price of CMCT being ground down on HitBTC while those using other exchanges were locked out of trading.

This isn’t necessarily good or bad depending on your ethos, it is really just something to be aware of. For example, you may think “man I want to get rid of CMCT or buy more” and in which case you might want to access HitBTC… or you might think, “I don’t want to deal with an exchange who would not pause trading,” in which case you might want to look to UpBit or Bittrex, two exchanges who did pause trading after the CMCT hack.

TIP: Be very careful buying CMCT. Given the gravity of the hack, the future of the coin is logically uncertain. Learn more here.
