How to Trade Meme Coins on Solana
Solana Meme coins have been hot in 2024. To trade them, move Solana into a wallet like Phantom and connect to Raydium. You may also want to use a trading bot like Bonk bot, since Solana can be slow when congested and Raydium even more so.
Let’s break down each step:
Transfer Solana to Phantom
To trade Solana coins you need to get into a Solana wallet. We suggest Phantom, but any major Solana wallet will do.
- Buy Solana, for example on Coinbase.
- Create a new account on Phantom.
- Send your Solana to your Phantom address.
Trade Solana on Raydium
Raydium is where most of the meme coins trade.
- Go to Raydium, click the “Launch App” button, and connect your wallet.
- Trade “From” Solana “To” a meme coin by clicking the “Swap” button.
TIP: If a coin has been around for a while already, you can just Jupiter instead. Jupiter is generally faster and more user friendly.
Finding Meme Coins
You can find meme coins by going to dextools.io and checking new live pairs, hot coins, or daily gainers. You should check out things like the score, the amount of holders, liquidity, and can even do research to find things like if the pool keys are burned.
Other tools include DexScreener and BirdEye.
Sniping Solana
If you aren’t tech savvy, you can use Bonk Bot to sipe Raydium pools. If you are very tech savvy, check out Github and find open source code for sniping or check out the Raydium Github. You’ll have to grapple with things like RPCs, fee management, and more, but it can make order execution easier. If you don’t have fairly high level technical skills, stick with Bonk bot.
Solana RPCs
When you trade on Raydium you can use your own RPC. A cheap Helius RPC for example will speed up your transaction time.
